Fundamental Research into German Literature of the Middle Ages
The MTU Münchener Texte und Untersuchungen zur deutschen Literatur des Mittelalters (MTU) (i.e. Munich Texts and Studies of German Literature of the Middle Ages) is a highly regarded international series of publications that undertake research into medieval German-language literature. This long-standing series provides scholars with a selection of works that are editorially and analytically oriented and have been written by colleagues with expertise in their particular field. The contributors to the MTU come both Germany and abroad. The publications are available in German and English.
The Aims of the Series
Aim of the series is the publication of selected research findings, primarily from two particular fields of research:
- Basic research: editions, studies of the history of tradition and texts, standard repertoires from the fields of material philology
- Analytical articles concerned with the current discussion of methodology based on examples from studies.
